The next thing she knows, Lucille is on a train to Paris, tasked with retrieving a priceless Dior dress. And a moment of violence has devastating consequences. There are many things to like about The Return, but also some things that were too predictable and required a willing suspension of belief. The reason I love Victoria Hislop books and why she turned me onto historical fiction was because she writes fascinating fictional stories and characters based around true historical events. She enjoys dancing and looks forward to the class much to chagrin of her husband. This story, with all of its sadness and joy, is just SO moving. Overall I'm glad I read it as I didn't know anything about the Spanish Civil War so I found the actual story line of that very interesting.
