NOT long after the release of "A History of Violence, " a news report began making the e-mail rounds. As I kept watching I kept waiting for something exciting to happen, and the only interesting parts of the movie were the fights and the killing. First and most obviously, there is Tom's secret past. It is airing on HBO. Liked it rather a lot, almost strangely so. Its a difficult film - sometimes difficult films are good - great in this case. One of the best movies of the year, so darkly funny that i found myself to be the only one in the theater laughing! This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. How could the critics be so wrong on this? A couple of laughs, but definitely not a comedy-no idea where Liked it rather a lot, almost strangely so.

And, can somebody PLEASE explain why, just because some ex-thug knows how to fire a gun he can instantly turn into Bruce Lee when confronted with several well-armed opponents. Especially good performance by Mortensen. The critic's are getting shabby lately.
